It's no secret that Dortmund supporters are unhappy with the current transfer window, Dortmund has made 2 signings (not counting players coming up from BVB II), spending only €30m after seeing €108.35m worth of players exit the club, and with Jude Bellingham's fee likely to increase to over €130m from add ons they have the money to spend, but how should they spend it? Here are 3 options for the clubs future spending
Option A: The statement window
This window consists of bringing in Khephren Thuram, Edson Alvarez, and a top class fullback
In this window Dortmund would break their record transfer fee twice, spending upwards of €80m on Thuram and Alvarez, while spending around €15-20m on a fullback
Dortmund ended their pursuit of Edson Alvarez when they started having doubts about his price and Edin Terzic ultimately said no for that price, West Ham joined the race and Ajax immediately raised the price, but with West Ham exploring other options Alvarez's price could fall back down to around €30m
Thuram is another player who's price continues to fall, when first reported Dortmund were interested in April, Nice wanted €60m, now they want just €50m, and since Liverpool are also looking elsewhere for midfield options, his price could continue to fall, leading him to Dortmund possibly
Option B: The star player
This option consists of Dortmund being content with buying a star midfielder and fullback but that being it
Mohammed Kudus and Manu Kone are certainly names who you remember hearing about as they were the original Bellingham replacement candidates, and to be fair they still seem to be likely candidates as both are still available and for €35m
Option C: The content with what we have window
It seems Edin Terzic is happy with the team he has, and I get why considering they scored 3.1 goals a game in the second half of the season, but we still can improve, as always
This option consists of getting another midfielder for less than €20m and a fullback for around €10m, for example Sabitzer
This seems like the most likely option, but also the least liked option amongst fans
So what option would you take?
